Updated: Nov 27, 2020

About This Game “Hey, Mister... Are you a lonely person?”When his mother dies, our protagonist returns home to Wales for the first time in ten years to attend her funeral. Then, on a walk in the countryside, he encounters a mysterious young girl.Though her face is expressionless and her words are cold, the man soon forms a friendship with her… of sorts. However, their meetings only leave him with more questions. How did she know his mother, why does she have such a morbid fascination with death, and why does she look so much like his childhood sweetheart? But only one thing is certain: there is much more to Lily than meets the eye.Revamped version of an old VN made in 2014Written by ebi-hime, author of Sweetest Monster, Asphyxia, and Emmeline BurnsOST by yuzuki, who composed for Strawberry Vinegar, and Windswept NightArt by SillySelly, artist of Strawberry Vinegar, Empty Horizons, and AsphyxiaAround 25k wordsTwo different art styles to choose betweenHidden extra scene and author's notesWill probably make you feel sad(!) 1075eedd30 Title: Lily of the ValleyGenre: Casual, IndieDeveloper:ebi-himePublisher:ebi-himeRelease Date: 5 May, 2017 Lily Of The Valley Download For Windows 7 lily of the valley 5-pack. yardley lily of the valley eau de toilette 50ml. lily of the valley juice. lily of the valley earrings. lily of the valley vancouver. lily of the valley v0.92. lily of the valley zone 10. lily of the valley urn. lily of the valley zone 6a. lily of the valley tattoo. lily of the valley yves rocher. lily of the valley 5ch. lily of the valley mp3 free download. lily of the valley 3d. lily of the valley englewood ohio. lily of the valley essential oil. lily of the valley anointing oil. lily of the valley where to buy. lily of the valley vine. lily of the valley gift basket. breaking bad season 5 lily of the valley. lily of the valley manchester vt. lily of the valley king james version From developer ebi-hime and publisher Sekai Project comes Lily of the Valley, a short visual novel with a twist. At £1.99 on the Steam store, this is relatively cheap game; after seeing all the positive reviews for it, and being a fan of ebi-hime’s other works, I had to check it out.You play as an unknown man who, shortly after his mother’s death and funeral, meets a strange girl in the middle of the Welsh countryside. Who is she? When I say this game is short, I mean it is short; it takes under an hour to complete with all achievements, but the story itself is phenomenal. The art work of the game is extremely pretty and I was totally taken aback by it. Simple, but sweet, it really shows that work doesn’t have to be extremely complicated in order for it to be enjoyed. The audio was really sweet, and really helped with the story line. I’m normally not that much of a large fan of visual novels, but this one looked really promising with the reviews.Honestly, I was shocked. The story line in this was just absolutely spectacular. It was sweet, and innocent, but then later on, it twisted and became something totally different, but still with innocence, and I was just totally taken aback. I don’t know how ebi-hime managed to do this yet again, with another absolutely beautiful visual novel. Their work is outstanding and Lily in the Valley just made me fall in love with their work all over again. I cannot wait to try out the rest of their games, and experience all of them in their beautiful, stunning ways.I would definitely recommend buy this off the Steam Store. It’s cheap and it’s an absolutely amazing experience and story line. I can’t praise it more.. This is a remake of one of the earliest visual novels by Ebi-hime - if you're familiar with her other work, for example, Blackberry Honey, you'll see that many tropes prevalent in her writing were more or less established here. We have a depressed protagonist, dark, existential themes, a lot of introspection and slow-paced storytelling. All this accompanied by excellent prose and carefully crafted characters. As the VN is pretty short (around 2 hours of reading), the story is also simple: it follows a 34 years old office worker, who comes back to his hometown in Wales after the sudden death of his mother, after having little contact with his family for over a decade. We learn about his unfulfilling life in London, his guilt associated with falling apart with his loved ones and the self-pity that drives people away from him. Going for a walk day after the funeral he meets a strange girl in the valley he used to wander as a child - one that knows suspiciously much about his mother and have a very peculiar, mature worldview. The updated artwork by SillySelly is absolutely gorgeous, giving the game, along with the writing and the OST, a very strong climate. The main twist is not super-surprising, but is impactful and original enough to be memorable and get you to think about what it actually meant and about the main themes it signalizes. In the end, it was a very compelling read and definitely worth the asking price - highly recommended.--------PS If you're interested in more quality Western VNs, check out my curator page.. Death, depression, loneliness, melancholy, indifference, death.Heavy story, that initially felt innocent enough, but last chapters gave everything a whole new gravity. Maybe that's because of uncomfortably many parallels between the protagonist and me - if not for few ostensibly trivial differences, I could have ended up exactly the same. Then again, it's probably more the human condition, than me specifically. Everyone has dealt with deadening jobs, unfulfilling relationships, emptiness, life, death. And that's what the story is about - learning to live and die.Writing could have been better, some conversations felt disjointed and some took awkward directions, but nothing bad enough to ruin the overall experience. Sweetest Monster, only other visual novel by ebi-hime I read, had better writing.. This is a kinetic novel with a single choice in it. It is moody, lyrical, touching, and with a stinger at the end, exactly what I hope for from Ebi's games.Anyone who has played several of Ebi's games before will recognize the themes here--this game reminds me the most of her early "Is This the Life?" and Sweetest Monster, but there are a few moments that recall "Strawberry Vinegar," "Asphyxia," and "The Way We All Go." My one tiny reservation is that I was not a fan of the sprite for Lily (either the old or the new one)--it just didn't grab me. The eyes and the mouth looked a little odd. That small point aside, this was great.. Short and bitter sweet.. Short, bittersweet and totally worth of your time. It's a really nice VN to read, though it had its part of darkness.. Hey, hey ebi-hime.. listen, you can't keep doing this to me.10/10 for emotions and relatability.Simultaneously, 0/10 for breaking my heart, you fiend.. The most impactful stories are the ones in which give you a third-person view of yourself. This VN only takes 1.5 hours to read, so a review will come off as spoilery if I go too in depth. But I related to the main character on so many levels, focusing in on erratic and pointless things (especially when presented with a situation I wasn't comfortable with) and that list. That got me, I related all too well to that, the resemblance was such a quintessential summary of my attempts to do someting akin to that it made me feel like I was being told off by myself in the mind of someone else. It really made a huge impact on the way I perceive things, mind you, I'm not old, but when I was reading I felt in myself I could very possibly end up something very much like that. I don't like the thought, but this game struck a chord with me, while I don't think I'll end up something like that, our thought processes were uncanny in their similarity (I like to think I'm at least a smudge less callous).Off my ramblings, this game is amazing and definitley worth it, I got it on sale but It's so cheap that it might as well be on sale 24 hours of the day. There is the option to pick between art styles, trust, go with the old style, it makes the story feel so much more Its own, I've never seen art like that in a VN and it fits this one perfectly, the other one doesn't, it just makes certain scences feel off where the other "old" design everything fits together in such an amazing way.1.5 hours to read, very short, yet more impactful than 10+ hours of most VN's that come out now..
